Good to Know
  • Consider Longer Tours: Please be aware that this 2-day journey involves a substantial amount of driving, especially across the High Atlas Mountains. If you prefer to minimize your time in the car, we recommend considering a 2 or 3-day desert tour.
  • Weather-Dependent Experiences:Keep in mind that adverse weather conditions, such as rain or sandstorms, may result in missing out on the sunset, sunrise, or parts of the camel ride.
  • Lunch Options:While our usual stops include places offering fresh food, you have the flexibility to dine at touristy restaurants if you prefer. Simply inform your driver if you wish to book your restaurant independently.
  • Camel Riding Considerations: Riding a camel for an extended period may not be comfortable for everyone. We advise against it for pregnant women, individuals over 70 years old, or those with back problems.

Day 1Fes to Merzouga Desert Camp

Embark on an unforgettable journey from Fes to the mesmerizing Merzouga Desert. Departing from Fes, our route takes us through the picturesque Middle Atlas Mountains, renowned for their majestic cedar forests that span 350 kilometers from southwest to northwest Morocco.
Along the way, we’ll encounter captivating towns such as Ifrane, often referred to as the “Moroccan Switzerland” due to its unique architecture and reputation as an exclusive ski destination. Azrou, a renowned Berber city, will also greet us with its distinctive charm.
Our 2-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech continues as we traverse the stunning Ziz Valley and Ziz Gorges, making stops in towns like Midelt and Erfoud. From Erfoud, a desert road leads us to our ultimate destination, Merzouga.
At dusk, we’ll embark on a camel trek that will carry us into the heart of the desert, where we’ll find our desert camp. After relishing a traditional dinner, we’ll spend the night beneath the starry desert sky.

Day 2Merzouga to Marrakech via Ait Ben Haddou

Awaken to the awe-inspiring spectacle of a desert sunrise over the Merzouga dunes—a moment of pure natural beauty. Following this breathtaking experience, you’ll ride camels back to a hotel where you can freshen up and enjoy a hearty breakfast, recharging for the day ahead.
Our journey resumes, taking us through the Palmeral of Tafilalet and the historic town of Rissani, known as the hometown of the Moroccan royal family. We’ll continue to the town of Alnif and traverse the captivating Anti-Atlas mountains, where we’ll encounter charming Berber villages like Tazarine and N’kob.
Venture through the magnificent Draa Valley, with its vast stretches of date palms and lush greenery. After crossing the mountains via the Tizi N’Tnifift pass, we’ll reach the modern Ouarzazate, where a delectable lunch awaits.
With satisfied appetites, we’ll explore the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has served as a backdrop for numerous films. Depending on the season, we’ll either delve into a comprehensive visit or enjoy a brief stop.
Our journey back to Marrakech commences, promising stunning views and scenic landscapes. We’ll arrive in Marrakech around 19:00, where your 2-day desert adventure from Fes to Marrakech concludes, and you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation.
