Detailed Itinerary of 6 Days Tour from Tangier
Day 1: Tangier to Fes via Chefchaouen [309 Km]
On the first day of your 6-day journey departing from Tangier, we’ll meet you at the Tangier port. Our route takes us through the breathtaking Rif Mountains and Tetouan city, providing stunning mountain vistas. We’ll make a stop at Chefchaouen, a charming village nestled at the base of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen’s Medina features a Spanish-style square and a variety of arts and crafts shops, rooftop restaurants, and cafes where you can enjoy lunch. Afterward, we’ll continue our journey to Fes, where we’ll spend the night.
Day 2: Fes Guided Tour Following breakfast, we’ll embark on a comprehensive exploration of Fes, the oldest of Morocco’s imperial cities, and its historic Medina. Founded by Idriss II, Fes is a hub of Arab-Muslim culture, boasting attractions such as the Mosque of the Andalusians, tanneries, the pottery district, and the Medina itself. Lunch will be served in a palace within the Medina. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Hispano-Moorish buildings and the Nejjarine Medersas.
Day 3: Fes to Merzouga Desert via Ifrane and Azrou [467 km]
After breakfast, our journey leads us southwards to Ifran and Azrou, passing through the captivating Middle Atlas Mountains. En route, we’ll make a stop at the cedar forests to witness monkeys in their natural habitat. As we traverse the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and admire the scenic Ziz gorges carved into volcanic rock, the landscape will transition to desert terrain as we approach Errachidia. After lunch, we’ll continue our route through the Ziz Valley, passing through Erfoud, Rissani, and Merzouga. Upon arrival, we’ll enjoy mint tea, then proceed to a Berber camp nestled in the Erg Chebbi dunes, North Africa’s tallest sand dunes. A 1.5-hour camel trek will take us to the camp, where we’ll spend the night in traditional Berber tents. The tents are equipped with mattresses, blankets, and pillows. After dinner, gather around the campfire to savor traditional Berber songs and drumming beneath the starry desert sky.
Day 4: Merzouga to Dades Gorges [255 km] Wake up early to witness a mesmerizing sunrise over the dunes and partake in a camel ride back to the hotel. After refreshing and having breakfast, our journey continues to Tinghir and the captivating Todra Gorges, finally arriving in the Dades Valley, where we’ll have dinner and spend the night.
Day 5: Dades Gorges to Marrakech via Ait Ben Haddou [325 km]
Following breakfast, we’ll venture through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat M’Gouna and Ouarzazate, traversing the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, providing ample opportunities for picturesque photos. We’ll visit the Valley of Roses and the charming village of Skoura before reaching Ouarzazate, known as “the Hollywood of Africa.” Lunch will be enjoyed at the renowned Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Our journey continues through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka pass, reaching an altitude of 2260 meters in the High Atlas Mountains, where we’ll pause to savor the breathtaking views. In the late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Marrakech.
Day 6: Marrakech Guided Tour
Today, we’ll explore Marrakech, often referred to as “the Red City of Morocco.” Our local guide will ensure you discover the city’s historical and culturally significant sites, including the Koutoubia Mosque minaret, Saadian Tombs, the magnificent Bahia Palace, and the Ben Youssef Koranic School. As we stroll through the streets, you’ll have the opportunity to witness various artisans in the medina practicing their crafts. Our tour will culminate in the iconic Djamaa El Fna square. Lunch will be served at a restaurant nearby, followed by an afternoon visit to the Majorelle Gardens and a glimpse of Gueliz, the city’s modern district. In the evening, immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Djamaa El Fna, where magicians, storytellers, street performers, and food vendors provide entertainment.
