Program Itinerary of the 12 Days Tour from Tangier
Day 1: Welcome to Morocco!
Upon arrival at the Port/Airport in Tangier, our friendly driver/guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 2: Exploring Tetouan and Chefchaouen [112 Km]
After a delicious breakfast, we’ll embark on a journey to Tetouan, with a scenic drive through traditional villages in the Jbala region. The area boasts refreshing hillside air and captivating aromas.
Our destination is Chefchaouen, renowned for its vibrant medina and bustling markets. We’ll explore the town center and spend the night at a charming local hotel.
Day 3: From Chefchaouen to Fes via Volubilis and Meknes [277 km]
Today, we set off for Fes. Along the way, we’ll visit the ancient Roman city of Volubilis and the historical sites of Meknes, another imperial city.
Upon reaching Fes, you’ll be immersed in the bustling medina, guided by a local expert. Explore narrow streets filled with the aroma of spices, colorful carpets, and exquisite Moroccan craftsmanship. Highlights include the Royal Palace, tanneries, potters, and local artisans. Lunch will be served in a traditional Medina restaurant.
Day 5: Journey to Merzouga’s Sahara Desert [469 km]
An early start as we venture across the Middle Atlas Mountains to Merzouga. Enjoy breathtaking landscapes, Berber villages, and a stop in Midelt, the apple capital. Drive through scenic Oued Ziz, kasbahs, and the colorful city of Er-Rachidia before arriving in Merzouga, the pearl of the Sahara Desert.
In the late afternoon, experience a camel trek into the desert to witness a mesmerizing sunset. Spend the night in a comfortable desert camp with delightful cuisine.
Day 6: Explore Merzouga and Camel Trek [45 km]
After breakfast, we’ll explore Merzouga’s surroundings, including two oases, Berber nomad territories, and the Khamlia village. Enjoy a camel ride to the dunes and witness the captivating desert sunset. Spend the night in nomadic tents within a beautiful oasis.
Day 7: From Merzouga to Dades Valley via and Todgha Gorges [269 km]
We’ll return to the hotel after experiencing the sunrise in the desert. After freshening up and breakfast, we’ll visit the vibrant Rissani Souk, followed by a journey to Todra Gorges, where you can stroll alongside the flowing streams.
Continue to the Dades Gorges, where you’ll overnight in a charming local Riad.
Day 8: Dades Valley to Marrakech via Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah [326 km]
Today, we head towards the High Atlas Mountains, passing through Ouarzazate and visiting the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a renowned cinematic location.
After lunch at the Kasbah, we’ll traverse the Tizi n Tishka pass in the Atlas mountains, arriving in Marrakech. Spend the night in a traditional Riad.
Day 9: Day Trip to Essaouira [191 km]
Continuing your Tangier tour, we drive to the coastal city of Essaouira, steeped in historical significance. Explore ancient streets, museums, castles, and bronze cannons. Return to Marrakech for an overnight stay in a Riad.
Day 10: Marrakech Exploration with Local Guide
A full day of exploration awaits in Marrakech, known as the “magnet of travelers.” Visit the Medina, its vibrant souks, the famous Jamaa el Fna square, Saadian Tombs, Menara gardens, and the palaces of El Bahia and Badia. Spend the night in a Marrakech hotel.
Day 11: Journey to Rabat via Casablanca [325 km]
Today, we head to Rabat, passing through significant cities like Casablanca. In Casablanca, we’ll visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque. Overnight in a hotel in Rabat, the capital of Morocco.
Day 12: Return to Tangier via Assilah [250 km]
After breakfast, we’ll return to Tangier, visiting Assilah along the way to explore its attractions. Finally, we’ll transfer you to the ferry port or airport for your departure.
