Day 1: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades
Begin your adventure by departing from Marrakech at 8:00 am. Your route takes you through the breathtaking High Atlas mountains and the Tizi n’Tichka, the highest road pass in the region. Along the way, relish in the stunning landscapes, panoramic Atlas vistas, and quaint Berber villages. Take a moment to savor coffee or tea as you soak in the surroundings.
Continue your journey to explore the iconic Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, famously featured in Hollywood blockbusters like Gladiator, Mummy, and Game of Thrones. This historic site served as a vital stronghold along the ancient Salt Road, facilitating the trade of goods such as slaves, gold, ivory, salt, and silk from sub-Saharan Africa.
After your Kasbah visit, proceed to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gate of the Desert.” Then, venture onward to Dades Valley via Skoura, Mgouna Valley (Roses Valley), and several charming Berber villages. Your first night’s accommodation awaits in Dades.

Day 2: Dades – Todra Gorges – Jorf – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert (Erg Chebbi Dunes)
Embark on Day 2 with a morning departure from Dades Valley. Your destination is Todra, home to one of Morocco’s most breathtaking and awe-inspiring canyons. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the canyon, enjoy the soothing sounds of the river, and absorb the stunning views.
Continue your journey through captivating landscapes, passing numerous Berber Villages and lush oases. As you travel, you’ll reach Erfoud, a town renowned for its fossil factories, crafting exquisite pieces and shapes from ancient fossils.
Your final stop of the day is the captivating Merzouga. En route, you’ll traverse the Saharian Oasis of Rissani. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax or begin your camel trek to the desert Berber camp. The camel trek typically commences around 17:00 – 18:00 in summer and 15:00 – 16:00 in winter. After an hour on the dunes, you’ll arrive at the desert camp to witness the Sahara’s splendor and a mesmerizing sunset.
Relish a refreshing mint tea and a delightful local meal in the restaurant tent. As evening falls, delight in Berber music performed by locals around the campfire. Don’t forget to stargaze and be awed by the countless stars above. Please note that campfires are during the colder months and when there’s no wind.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Medilt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
On your third day, rise early for an optional sunrise spectacle. After breakfast and a refreshing shower, embark on a morning camel trek back to Merzouga. Here, you’ll reunite with your driver/guide to commence the journey to Fes.
Your route takes you through Errachidia, the largest administrative city in the desert region. Pause for a panoramic view of the majestic Ziz Valley, then continue to Medilt, known for its apples. You can opt to have lunch here or venture a bit further to the charming village of Zaida for your meal.
As you continue toward Fes, you’ll encounter the Cedar forest of Azrou, inhabited by wild monkeys. This is a great opportunity to capture Morocco’s wilderness in photographs and interact with the monkeys, although their presence isn’t guaranteed as they are wild animals.
The journey progresses to Ifrane, often referred to as the Moroccan Switzerland. Finally, you’ll reach Fes, estimated to arrive around 18:00 – 19:00, depending on the duration of stops along the way and your morning departure.
