Day 1: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades
Begin your journey by meeting your driver at your hotel/riad in Marrakech at 8:00 am. Your adventure commences as you head southward, crossing the impressive High Atlas Mountains via the highest road pass in Morocco, Tizi-n-Tichka (2260 m high). This route offers awe-inspiring vistas of valleys, mountains, and numerous Berber villages.
As you approach Ouarzazate, you’ll have the privilege of visiting the UNESCO-protected Ait Benhaddou, a remarkably well-preserved Kasbah and fortress in Morocco. This iconic site has been featured in numerous Hollywood movies, including Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Game of Thrones.
Continuing your journey, you’ll head towards the enchanting Dades Valley, passing through Mgouna, Skoura (surrounded by Berber villages), and ultimately arriving in Dades Valley. Here, you’ll spend the night.

Day 2: Dades – Todra Gorges – Jorf – Erfoud – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes)
On the second day, set off from Dades in the morning after enjoying breakfast and a refreshing shower. Your destination is Todra Gorges, one of Morocco’s most breathtaking and awe-inspiring canyons, aptly named for its tight resemblance to a human throat or gorge. Take some time to explore the canyon, appreciating the sight and the soothing sound of the river coursing through it.
From Todra Gorge, your journey continues to Merzouga, passing through mesmerizing landscapes, lush palm tree oases, and charming Berber Villages. You’ll traverse the small town of Erfoud, marking the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet, before finally arriving in Merzouga.
Depending on your arrival time in Merzouga, you’ll have the option to relax or embark immediately on a camel trek into the desert, where you’ll spend the night in a desert camp. The camel trek typically begins around 17:00 – 18:00 in summer and 15:00 – 16:00 in winter, lasting approximately one hour. Upon reaching the camp, you’ll relish the mesmerizing views of the Sahara dunes and the captivating desert sunset. You’ll be welcomed with a traditional Moroccan tea, followed by dinner in the main tent (restaurant). After dinner, delight in desert music performed by local artists around a campfire. Be sure to gaze up at the sky to witness the astonishing display of countless stars. Please note that campfires are available only during the colder months (at night) from late November to mid-April and when there’s no wind.

Day 3: Merzouga – Alnif – Nkob – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
Rise early on the third day to catch the magnificent sunrise, should you desire. After breakfast and a shower, embark on a morning camel trek back to Merzouga, where you’ll reunite with your driver.
Continue your journey back to Marrakech, passing through various regions and diverse Berber villages like Alnif, Tazarine, and N’kob. Your route leads you to Ouarzazate, where you’ll follow the same road back to Marrakech.
Anticipate an evening arrival in Marrakech, estimated around 18:00 – 19:00, depending on your morning departure and the duration of stops along the way.
