Day 1: Marrakech to Dades Valley via Atlas Mountains, Ouarzazate, Skoura
Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up in Marrakech at 08:00 AM. We’ll journey southward, passing through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka, the highest road pass in the region. Along the way, you’ll be captivated by stunning Atlas landscapes, Berber villages, and a chance to enjoy coffee or tea in a local restaurant with mountain vistas. Our next stop is Ouarzazate, often referred to as “Hollywood of Africa.” Explore the famous film studio and Taourirt Kasbah, a historic fortified residence. Continuing our journey, we traverse Skoura, Mgouna Valley (Roses Valley), and various Berber villages before arriving at Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night in a hotel.

Day 2: Dades Valley to Merzouga via Todra Gorges and Erfoud
Day two begins with a departure from Dades Valley in the morning as we head to Todra Gorges, an exquisite and awe-inspiring canyon in Morocco. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the gorge and immerse yourself in the sounds and sights of the river. Departing from Todra, our journey continues through magnificent landscapes, passing numerous Berber villages and oases en route to the Merzouga desert. We’ll make a stop in Erfoud, a small town renowned for its fossil factories, and traverse the Sahara Oasis of Rissani. Depending on our arrival time, you’ll have a chance to relax or embark on a camel trek into the dunes, culminating in an overnight stay at a desert camp. The camel trek typically commences around 17:00-18:00 in summer and 15:00-16:00 in winter. Upon arrival at the desert camp, you’ll be welcomed with traditional mint tea, offering breathtaking views of the Sahara and a captivating sunset. Later, dinner will be served in the camp’s restaurant tent, accompanied by the melodious beats of Berber drums played by locals around the campfire. Don’t forget to take a leisurely stroll in the dunes, where you’ll be treated to a spectacular view of the star-studded night sky. Please note that bonfires are reserved for the colder months, and there are no sandstorms to worry about.

Day 3: Merzouga to Ouarzazate via Alnif, Agdz, Draa Valley
Day three begins early with an opportunity to ascend the dunes and witness the magnificent sunrise. After breakfast and a refreshing shower, the morning camel trek awaits. Once completed, you’ll meet your driver/guide and commence your journey to Ouarzazate. Along the way, we’ll stop in Rissani to explore its traditional market, one of the largest in southern Morocco. Our journey continues through the expansive rocky desert, passing through several Berber villages and the enchanting Draa Valley, which boasts thousands of palm trees. We anticipate arriving in Ouarzazate around 17:00, depending on the duration of our stops and the departure time from Merzouga.

Day 4: Ouarzazate to Marrakech via Ait Ben Haddou and Atlas Mountains
On the final day of your adventure, we’ll depart Ouarzazate in the morning, heading west to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou. This historic location has served as the backdrop for numerous Hollywood films, including Gladiator, The Mummy, Game of Thrones, and more. It’s also a key fortress along the Old Salt Road, making it one of Morocco’s most well-preserved and impressive Kasbahs. After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, we’ll journey back to Marrakech via the Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakech around 17:00.
